Technicians and Assistants
Our Veterinary Technicians and Assistants are knowledgeable and critical members of the Chicago Equine team. They support the day-to-day functioning of the hospital and provide assistance to our veterinarians in the field. Our Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVT) are licensed to administer vaccines, sedate, clean sheaths and perform other preventative care services.
Our Veterinary Technicians
Jill Lewis, CVT has worked for Chicago Equine since 2001. She received her Associates degree in Veterinary Technology in 2011 from Penn Foster College. After passing the VTNE she became a certified veterinary technician.
Her areas of interest are nuclear scintigraphy, anesthesia/surgery, emergency medicine & radiology.
In her free time Jill enjoys being outside, walking her dogs and spending time with her husband and friends.
Bridget Pickett, CVT graduated from Rockford Career College with a degree as a Veterinary Technician. She has worked with horses for over 10 years and hopes to continue to work with these amazing creatures for many years to come.
When she was in high school, she did volunteer work with a hippotherapy program for kids. She also works part time at an emergency facility for small animals. Bridget has always had a passion for animals and their well-being, and she couldn’t be more thrilled to be pursuing a career that allows her to help animals in need. She is always eager to learn as well as share her knowledge with others to help spread her passion for animals.
In her spare time, she enjoys walking her Great Dane, Rue, running 5k & 10k races, spending nights out eating good food and listening to music with friends, as well as spending time with her family playing games. She couldn’t be prouder of the career that she has chosen, and she is excited to see what future experiences bring.
