Veterinary Services Manager – Jennifer Bunker

Jenn P PictureJennifer grew up in the Midwest and spent most of her childhood in Mundelein.  She attended Butler University where she received her BS in Secondary Education.  Jenn spent several years in the education field and as a member of the support staff at an outpatient physical therapy clinic. 

As a lifelong animal lover,  Jennifer is excited to be a part of the Chicago Equine team. 

In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and walking with her beagle-bulldog mix, Sadie.


Billing Manager – Kris Sanko

Kris grew up on the northwest side of Chicago.  She is a huge Chicago sports fan with the Bears, Blackhawks and Cubs being her favorite teams. She coached youth cheerleading for over 8 years and served on the board of the Stateline Comets as Director. 

Kris loves all animals,  great and small, and enjoys “babysitting” for her mom’s 2 horses.  Her greatest life accomplishment is being the mother of  grown son Brandon, daughter Kassidy and her two “fur-kids”, Bubba and Dallas, (English bulldogs). 

In her leisure time, Kris loves spending time with her family biking and boating on the Chain O’ Lakes and vacationing in tropical destinations with beautiful sandy beaches.


Veterinary Support Specialist – Samantha Parlapiano

Samantha was born and raised in Connecticut. At a young age, through helping her grandfather with his horses, she realized how strong her passion was for the equine athlete.

Samantha completed her bachelor’s degree in Equine Facilities Management with a concentration in Stud Farm Management, at Lake Erie College, in Painesville Ohio. 
Always awaiting the next big adventure, after graduating Samantha decided to move to Lexington, Kentucky where she spent six years in the Thoroughbred industry on various farms, foaling out mares, prepping yearlings for auction and working in emergency medicine. 

Apart from horses, Samantha enjoys spending time with her dog Ruger, traveling, hiking, photography, and spending time with family and friends.  Samantha is very excited to continue working in the equine industry at Chicago Equine and give back to the animals that taught her so much.  


Business Manager – Dave Shimanek


Dave was born and raised in Villa Park, Illinois smelling chocolate from the Ovaltine factory each day as he grew up. He received his BS from Illinois State University and his MBA from Northern Illinois University.

Dave came to Chicago Equine from a varied background in industries such as: service, leisure sports, business systems, and insurance.

In his free time, Dave enjoys spending time with his wife, three kids, and Labrador retrievers. He has served on various non-profit ventures as a volunteer or in a formal capacity to support of his local community.
