Technicians and Assistants
Our Veterinary Technicians and Assistants are knowledgeable and critical members of the Chicago Equine team. They support the day-to-day functioning of the hospital and provide assistance to our veterinarians in the field. Our Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVT) are licensed to administer vaccines, sedate, clean sheaths and perform other preventative care services.
Jill Lewis, CVT
Jill Lewis, CVT has worked for Chicago Equine since 2001. She received her Associates degree in Veterinary Technology in 2011 from Penn Foster College. After passing the VTNE she became a certified veterinary technician. Her areas of interest are nuclear scintigraphy, anesthesia/ surgery, emergency medicine & radiology. In her free time Jill enjoys being outside, walking her dogs and spending time with her husband and friends.
Bridget Pickett, CVT
Bridget Pickett has graduated from Rockford Career College with a degree as a Veterinary Technician. She has worked with horses for a good 10 years and hopes to continue to work with these amazing creatures for many more years to come. When she was in high school she did volunteer work with a hippo therapy program for kids. She also works part time at an emergency facility for small animals. She has always had a passion for animals and their well-being and she couldn’t be more thrilled to be pursuing a career that allows her to help animals in need. She is always eager to learn as well as share her knowledge with others to help spread her passion for animals. On her spare time she enjoy going for walks with her dog Stella (Great Dane), running 5k & 10k, as well as spending time with her family. She couldn’t be more proud of the career that she has chosen for herself and she is excited to see what future experiences bring.
Veterinary Assistant – Nate Tuskey
Nate has been at Chicago Equine since 2012. Originally trained as a diesel technician, he is currently enrolled in the Penn Foster CVT program. When not at work he enjoys spending time with his Andalusian mare, Anna. He and his wife, Bethany, have 3 horses, 2 cats and a dog.
